Welcome to ReelCircle! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the ReelCircle mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using ReelCircle, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using ReelCircle, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree to these Terms, please don't use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use ReelCircle. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

3. Your Account

3.1 Account Creation

• You must sign in using Apple Sign In
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You must provide accurate information
• One person may not maintain more than one account

3.2 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms
• You engage in abusive or harmful behavior
• Your account has been inactive for an extended period
• We're required to do so by law

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 You May:

• Share honest movie recommendations with friends
• Connect with up to 20 friends
• Use your voice or text to create recommendations
• Browse and enjoy recommendations from friends

4.2 You May NOT:

• Post spam, offensive, or inappropriate content
• Harass, bully, or abuse other users
• Impersonate others or create fake accounts
• Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or exploit the Service
• Use automated tools (bots) to interact with the Service
• Violate copyright or intellectual property rights
• Share illegal or harmful content
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without permission

5. Content Guidelines

5.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of the movie recommendations and reviews you post. By posting content, you grant us a license to:

• Store and display your content to your friends
• Deliver your content via push notifications
• Use your content to improve the Service

5.2 Content Standards

All recommendations must:

• Be about actual movies or TV shows
• Be your honest opinion
• Not contain hate speech, threats, or harassment
• Not violate others' rights or privacy
• Not contain spam or advertising

5.3 Content Moderation

We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms, though we don't actively monitor all recommendations.

6. Third-Party Services

ReelCircle uses the following third-party services:

• Apple Sign In: For authentication (governed by Apple's terms)
• TMDB: For movie information (governed by TMDB's terms)
• Firebase: For backend services (governed by Google's terms)

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Rights

ReelCircle and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.

7.2 Movie Information

Movie metadata, posters, and information are provided by TMDB and are subject to their licensing terms.

7.3 Trademarks

"ReelCircle" and our logo are our trademarks. You may not use them without permission.

8. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Key points:

• Voice recordings are processed on your device when possible
• We don't store voice data on our servers
• Movie recommendations are stored locally on your device
• We don't sell your data or show ads

9. Service Availability

9.1 No Guarantees

We strive to keep ReelCircle running smoothly, but we don't guarantee:

• 100% uptime or availability
• Error-free operation
• That the Service will meet all your needs
• Compatibility with all devices

9.2 Modifications

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose
• Non-infringement of third-party rights
• Accuracy or reliability of content
• Security or privacy (though we make reasonable efforts)

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
• Service interruptions or errors
• Third-party conduct or content

Our total liability shall not exceed $100 or the amount you paid us (if any) in the past 12 months.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of others' rights
• Content you post

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 Informal Resolution

If you have a dispute, please contact us first. We'll try to resolve it informally.

13.2 Arbitration

If we can't resolve the dispute informally, you agree to binding arbitration rather than court litigation (except for small claims court).

13.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree to bring disputes on an individual basis only, not as part of a class action.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Posting the new Terms on this page
• Sending an in-app notification for material changes

Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ReelCircle regarding the Service.
